Volgograd, or Stalingrad in the old Soviet Union I believe.

Volgograd, former Stalingrad.
That's where the Russian army stopped the Nazzi alliance and turned them back during WWII.
And that's the image that the winner will get.

I shouldn't get any credit for them - I stole the pics from the net. My own is on the 32th page of "Picture That Poster" thread closer to the bottom.
Though my parents are from there I grew up elsewhere. But every Summer we would visit the family in Volgograd, and Mamaev Kurgan (the name of the memorial complex) was always a place to go.
