My adopted granddaughter collects 1 cent coins, now Lincolns, but she has expressed a great interest in getting 1 cent coins from all over the world. She has a birthday coming up so I thought I would try to get her some from members here if you are interested in donating a 1 cent coin from your country to her.I will have a drawing of names or countries and have her send Lincoln cents to those drawn. A note about where the coin is minted, who or what is on the coin,or a picture of a landscape, favorite building, local farm market or animal,Seasonal weather and temperatures, name and population of your town. This way we can have a family learning discussion.More details to follow if anybody is interested.Thank you gasman96

I'd be happy to donate anything I can scrape up as well!
How specific are we on the "one cent"? For example, I have 1 pence pieces I can contribute.

I'm in. I can contribute a GB man-in-a-wheelchair-holding-a-pitchfork cartwheel penny as well as a USA Indian Head cent. And maybe a few other coins after I dig through the current bag o' coins waiting to be turned in. I don't need Lincoln cents, thank you, but please do post a photo of her when she receives the coins, will you?

Thank you all for the interest in my request.I hope I do not come across like a total dum-dum but I honestly do not know much about coins from other countries.Lincoln cents I grew up with so I can use them and teach the grandchildren about them but Miss Frances seems to ask ? about other countries money.Does it look like ours, what can they buy for 1-2-3-4or5 cents, where is their money made? What do they call their money? Then more ? what is it like in their country, are their houses like ours etc.on on and on.
She has a nice collection of Lincolns so I though a collection of small denomination coins from other countries would be a great starting point for Miss Frances and not put a big financial burden on others or me.
Whoever sends any coins please remember we are dealing with a young person that collects, saves and plays with the coins.thank you gasman96

I was looking at putting in sample pennies from different times (designs). Is there any particular year that she might appreciate seeing. Maybe her birth year, or grampa's?

Where do I start, 1)Does PM mean send mailing address to person that asks for PM? 2)Do I click on senders (send email) sign? 3)Do I send an email to those persons that respond with an offer of coins? Important dates: Any and/or all
Birth date: July 4,2004-2011,7 years old with a lot of learning to do and good common sense IMO.I wish I learn how to use this dang computer soon,it's driving me bats I keep loosing what I write and where I've been, gotta be old age or senility.I quit for now.gasman96

Click on my screen name and go to my profile. Click on "send e-mail" under contact info and another box will pop up. Answer the math question so that it will know that you are not a robot spamming me, then send me your mailing address!
You may also want to update your contact info - we can't PM you. Thanks!

Same goes for me. I am typing up a brief history of the Canadian penny and putting aside coins from each monarch for her. Just email your address and I'll get it in the mail as soon as it is done.
