I thought I was going to be excited about this but it has left me a little less then enthused. I was expecting it to be a little......well, larger. Closed, this tiny loupe can easily fit within the tip of my index finger. Honestly, I can barely see through it the lens is so small. It's 1/4 the size of my 10x.

I don't know. I guess I will play with it and see if it will grow.

I bought a similar B&L loupe and I hate it for the same reasons. Picked up a cheap $4 20X loupe at a flea market on vacation this past spring and it works great. It is about the size of a half dollar. Should have made the guy an offer on his entire stock and sold them here.

This question is to both of you, are the loupes you bought a doublet or a triplet? Thanks,

Found my first loupe pretty cheap on ebay, I got it last week and really like it, it's called a magnifier with 3 5X folding lenses. It was under $10 including S&H

John,

Is it the 14x hastings triplet? I have that one. It is at first difficult to adjust to.

What do you plan to use it for? 14x is a bit more than general examination calls for.
