This is a Maria Theresa Thaler from Austria, this coin has been used as a trade coin in East Africa and the Middle east since 1780 to the present. Your coin appears to have been well circulated, but is a recent restrike. If there were a bit more detail we would be able to pin down the date better. echizento: That is a very good nutshell tubularization of the varieties.

I have a book on the subject of the varieties of these coins. The main thing to look for is in the variations of the saltire / cross near the date. That is where the effort should be made in checking the variety ID of the coin.

w1007: See if you can get a good print of the table from the screen.
