Does anyone have any pictures of gold South African Krugerrand double die errors? DDO? or DDR? Or can anyone point me in the direction leading to any information confirming the existence of such errors? I have discovered a 1986 1/10 oz Krugerrand double die reverse. I added a picture but it is not that good. As soon as I have better pics I will post them.

It's hard to be sure from the pic, but that's an interesting coin!

Here is an update on this coin. I have sent the coin to NGC to be confirmed or not, as a double die and to be graded, along with a 1968 South African 2 Rand gold piece that also displays doubling on the reverse, but not as dramatic as this coins doubling, and is probably Strike Doubling. I have also submitted a 1955 Mexican 5 Peso gold piece that I believe is an overdate 9 over 9. I will re-post here in regards to this 1986 Krugerrand and start new threads with pics if my other error coins are confirmed.

Here's the latest info on the coin. I sent the coin to NGC to be confirmed as being a Double Die Reverse and the coin came back without the DDR label but the invoice made no mention as to whether or not the doubling was die doubling or Strike Doubling. So, I called NGC to ask why and they told me that NGC will not recognize the variety because no other 1986 1/10 Krugerrand is known to exist and that I should seek other opinions. This is also the case for the 1955 five peso gold with a re-punched 9 that I submitted to them. They did however refund me the two additional ten dollar fees I paid them for variety attribution. Can anyone suggest what I should do next?

How do I get NGC or PCGS to recognize this as a double die? Does anyone know?

I have a 1972 Krugerrand with strong, level partial collar. It is BU, and the flip shows a weight of 33.7 grams.

(No picture until I find my plastic holder for scanning edges).
