I think these cost $35 from the mint, didn't they?

The mint was using these same rolls for the coins they supplied to Wal-mart for the distribution in Jan of 2000. They also made them available to banks at no premium. They literally sent out at least a couple hundred million dollars worth of coins in these rolls. They might have sold them for $35 a roll, but who would buy them when the exact same rolls were available at the bank for face value?

Whenever I travel in the United States I visit banks looking for any mint rolls. Last September, I got 33 rolls of dollar coins at one bank in Vermont ... 5 rolls of 2000 Sacagawea dollars .. the rest were various President dollars ... I usually get $35 to $40 per roll at coin shows in Canada or $2 per coin if I break the rolls.
