NGC certified. Anyone want to take a stab at the grade?

I'll give it shot
The skirt lines are there and some are not
and the motto is still distinct
so in my own opinion a very good grade

I'm going to start spending some more time learning better grading. In my limited grading skills, I'd go with G-6.

I will go with a G6. There are visible lines in the dress, but it looks like the rim is mostly flat and the top of the motto shows a pretty good amout of wekness.

The details on the reverse are also pretty good and the letters are well defined, but the rim just screams G6 to me.

If the rims where better, I would go VG8.

Perhaps only G4, limited by the rim weakness on the reverse. NGC may give it a bump to G6 due to its key date status. It has some light scratches but nothing that rises to "problem coin" level.

I would say G-6. I would also agree that if the rims were better VG-8.

Your such a buzz kill Jaobler. You happen to be right though. NGC graded it G-4, and I thought it looked solid for a 6; which is part of the reason I picked it up.

Thank you all for your comments!

I received it and have it in hand, and still think it has a shot at a G-6. I'm debating as to whether to crack it out for now and put in the wlh dansco album? I would be more willing if I thought it could possibly upgrade if I had to sell it later and wanted to send it back in. thoughts?

Depends how much the value difference is, really. If its something like $50 or $70, its not worth the headache IMO.
