thq Pillar of the Community United States 3343 Posts	Posted 12/03/2010 7:34 pm OK, Moe. I'm proud of this one, which I got a deal on a few months ago....a solid fine 1875-CC with original color. Sorry, this is the best photo I can get with the coolpix.... Better date Seated coins are darned hard to find outside of the specialty dealers. This one, and a companion 1878-CC quarter in AU, turned up in the same shop. I've also found 1871-CC, 1872-CC and 1873-CC halves, an 1846 Half Dime, and an 1856-S quarter in coin shops, though in low grades. "Two minutes ago I would have sold my chances for a tired dime." Not to discourage all you CCFers from posting your Seated Liberty coinage, but, if you can (and I know it's tough!), please try to wait until the date for your coin(s) year (see first post, first page for schedule). That allows us all to post our Seated Liberty coins years together. I imagine it was pricey and I'm surprised more people didn't comment. That dime is in a PCGS slab, conservatively graded VF-30. It was a Teletrade purchase back in 2004 (total cost $170). I like this issue because it's the last year of the stars-obverse design and in 1860 that was only issued from San Francisco. You don't see them very often but they're not all that expensive in grades below EF. Here's a couple no-stars coins from the first two years... Report this Post to the Staff
