Quote: I will disagree with you on this one. I would not let this out of my hands for less than $500 and that would be if it only grades EF... I base my opinion on recent real-world sales of attributed coins. Those are a matter of public record; you can find them as easily as I did.

one must remember, many pricing is RETAIL.....thats like trying to think your coins are worth the " RedBook" values.....the thing is there is a going rate in which this coin will sell and it is more than $120....if your try for the top rate you may find it not selling, one must have it TPG graded for the value it represents and then it has a true representitive value....if it grades as Dave said, and I also agree...

Yeah, forget the books and the price guides.....books and price guides do not actually buy or sell coins..... people do......Heritage and ebay are the real world, and are true measures of what real people are buying and selling particular coins for.

MANY thanks for all the great input on my Morgan hotlips. After debating withe the person I consigned it to, we went with a $170 bin price and it sold within the 2nd day of listing.
Side note//question(s) I don't know if I qualify (not enough time posting on Coin community), but is there a link here where I can learn how to list coins/how to/is it paypal, etc,.etc? I have some semi key Morgans I may wish to list
Side note 2..Apologies for being away so long....medical stuff.
MERRY CHRISTMAS ALL!

No problem, I see you settled for far less for your needs........and not to make a fortune. as a new dealer would have milked this coin out.I trust you are well, and have a merry christmas...

I'm sure it did sell on the 2nd day, should have sold in 10 minutes. Too bad about the paltry sum received...Good luck with your other coins!

Not a huge loss, but probably $100 less than could have been realized from the EF45 slab the coin should probably have been in. Keep in mind, though - a quick search of ebay results indicates 82 finished auctions of Hot Lips Morgans. Of that 82, only 15 sold. This coin was the second-highest actual sale price, exceeded only by a raw coin in lesser condition but offered by a seller with a large track record and many repeat customers. This coin's auction could have included better photos; the ones presented made the coin appear as if it might have been cleaned. I would absolutely have used the shots presented earlier in this thread and made the BIN something north of $200.

Also...in a previous post basically for my benefit about real world sales and Heritage and ebay sales...bah...my real world is attending coin shows at least twice monthly for many many years. This is where IMO business for me is done...buying, sellin, trading, exchange of info, etc. Yeah there's always big time deals done behind closed doors but up here this is how we do business...face to face, and alot of us have known each others for years, buyers and sellers alike. ebay and internet sales are a suckers game as far as I'm concerned....Now with that being said...CHEERS...it's Happy Hour for me now!
