Wow that was a find? If you got that out of change or a roll - great find.

Weird, I typed a response and it must have gotten lost, so I will try again.

Thanks for the responses, here is how I got this coin, the 22 weak d and 09 s I posted.

Met a fella in a restaurant who overheard me talking about coins with a friend. He told me he was a Merc and gold eagle collector. I told him I liked Lincolns. He offered me his stash, said he had no interest in them. I went to his house and he had a cloth bag with a bunch of wheat rolls and BU pre 82 Memorials.

He had a 2x2 with small date written on the outside but it was not, clearly a large date. There were 3 70 s BU rolls in the bag, this coin turned up in one of them.

To start the negotiations I offered him .03 per wheat and .02 each for the BU coins plus 70 bucks because I could tell he had some neat stuff. He thought it was too much money, I insisted. Deal was done. He told me he just wanted to get rid of em and was glad I would enjoy them.

btw, his Merc's and 19th Cen. gold was Jaw dropping. He had a roll of 16-d's. He had been collecting since the 50's. Nice fella

The roll of 16 d's were in a platic roll not an original bank roll.

He knew what they were worth too.

His A set was all slabbed and most of them were FB's.

Like I said, Jaw Dropping stuff.

Lucky for me, he had not interest in cents.

Now that's a sweet coin related story, I see this coin as an MS63, baggy coin.......PS, I wonder how many small date coins, in the rolls did you find?
