They really over minted them on the Original Star Trek and restrikes were minted on Deep Space Nine. They are not rare.

One of your facts was where it came from and I think it was a US Minted coin.
Hint No 1 VNdB = VN De Balboa on the obverse of the coin
Hint #2: January 15 = most likely has to do with Sylvester Stallone ~ Rocky Balboa
Hint #3: APFLV ~ This is why I don't do brainbusters ... Atlantic to Pacific land crossing?
Hint No 4 = 17.4°, 81.9° ~ I assumed this was Longitude and Latitude and ended up on the eastern side of India, not too far from the coast, therefore I went on an Indian tangent googling January 15th and India currency release dates etc.
I thought of Tsunami news, you name it.
Might have something to do with a mission Vasco Nunez de Balboa sailing went on "The route to India"
Hint #5: This coin is minted by an official government mint. It is not a token or medal.
One of your facts was where it came from and I think it was a US Minted coin.
Hint # 6: This coin was generally used for commerce versus a commemorative coin.
Pretty much self explainatory now, however I was selecting circulation strikes of some coins that were also commemoratives.
Hint #7: Someone has guessed the correct country.
Well later you said it was not India so this hint left it down to just a few. I was still stuck in the India area or Asia but everyone went to Panama.
Hint #8: Someone has guessed the coin type but not the correct denomination.
A Balboa of some denomination. A natural deduction once Rupees were out.
Hint # 9: 21st Century
Well we are only 11 years into that so it had to be fairly recent. Found out later by using hidden words that the date was right using 2001.
Hint # 10: (Since there seems to be a large trend towards India as the country of choice) The coin to be guessed in this thread is NOT from India.
That settled that.

But you're getting closer...
So close, and getting warmer and warmer!

Everyone should check for hidden messages on some of my last posts.... YES they should
Hint #11: Mr. Wheezy has taught me a few tricks...
How to hide words in posts.
This guess is VERY close to the right year, but the location is on the wrong continent!

Hint # 12: If I were you, I would look for hidden clues...

This is the right country...

This is the right year...

This is the right denomination (It's actually a 1/4 Balboa but that equals 25 Centesimos...)

I had it by then and you know I did cause I sent you a PM but couldn't post til midnite. Now I get to sleep.

Hint No 1 VNdB = VN De Balboa on the obverse of the coin VNdB does indeed stand for Vasco Núñez de Balboa

Hint #2: January 15 = most likely has to do with Sylvester Stallone ~ Rocky Balboa Nope, sorry this was not the reason I chose this clue.

Hint #3: APFLV ~ This is why I don't do brainbusters ... Atlantic to Pacific land crossing? Nope, sorry.

This was more of an informational hint. (Panama does indeed mint their own coins. they use US Dollar bills for currency though).

Good!

Hint #1: VNdB = VN De Balboa on the obverse of the coin, at first I thought the coin was in some database(dB)
Hint #2: January 15 = the month and day Balboa died
Hint #3: APFLV: Maybe a prelude to hint 4 telling us to alternate the land vectors or something like that because
Hint #4: 17.4°, 81.9° if you check these coordinates as latitude, longitude you end up off the coast of panama
Hint #5: This coin is minted by an official government mint. It is not a token or medal. One of your facts
Hint # 6: This coin was generally used for commerce versus a commemorative coin.Another factual hint
Hint #7: Someone has guessed the correct country. Gave us 5 or 6 countries to pick from
Hint #8: Someone has guessed the coin type but not the correct denomination.I later ask you to clarify this for me because I'm thick headed
Hint # 9: 21st Century-narrowed it down to 11 years
Hint # 10: (Since there seems to be a large trend towards India as the country of choice) The coin to be guessed in this thread is NOT from India.
Actually I had no idea why people were in India at the time, I assumed it was the vector thing
Hint#11 Wheezy has taught me a few tricks...Now I know what was going on here (hidden words) but I had no idea
Hint # 12: If I were you, I would look for hidden clues...again I never saw these clues, wish I had! I was looking at what you said for hidden meaning
like "it's not the one I own" thinking it was close

Hint #3: APFLV

Hint # 3a: This clue has to do with the Country of Panama.

Hint #4: 17.4°, 81.9°

Hint # 4a: These coordinates DO NOT pertain to the Country of Panama.

Hey Moe! This does not really have to do with answering the clues but I was thinking an Aussie coin because you kept saying "this is not the COF". So this should explain it https://goccf.com/t/77598

Wow! I can see why there could have been a problem! I'm not very familiar with Aussie Coinage and didn't realize the term COF could cause confusion.

I didn't mean to throw anybody off track. (At least on this clue!)

You can still win the 1935 WLH! Only 2 clues left to solve!
