The 3 Stone mountain commemorative halves I found this year. One was close to AU.

lets see: I think the best find I made this year would have to be from a string and sons box.
it had a little over a roll of walking liberties, a roll of franklins, about a roll and a half of 64s, and 2-3 rolls of 40%.

oblakavshtanax- what is a string and sons box? because based on your finds id reeaaally love to get one of those! my best find would (i found it 2 days ago!) probly be a 1910 wheat with an error of somekind- probably a lamination error of a strike through oil but I'm not sure:/ I'm working on getting my camera set up so I cant post it and figure out what it is

cool. well the string and sons boxes are only wrapped/boxed USING string and sons materials. I don't know who the actual distribution co. is.
the boxes are all flat though. none of the halves are stacked on top of each other.
also, I wouldn't get too excited about them. I've gone through tons of them and gotten nothing. as with all roll hunting, you need to be either lucky or incredibly industrious and go through tons of boxes.

Interesting. The bank I go to gets all of their boxes from what they call the 'fed' I assume the federal reserve. But I always thought they only boxed them at the fed. I didn't know any other companies boxed coins. Good to know! Thanks

Well, it's almost roll hunting. I buy bags or partial bags of half dollars off the machine at the bank lobby, and pick through them. Best finds in the past year: 1746-ish UK farthing. Date was too worn to make out. Two US Large Cents - 1844. looks like a metal detector find. Pretty corroded - and the final digit of the date is a guess. 1851 Large cent.

Best find so far would be a 1944-d/s Lincoln Cent in AU condition! I had wanted this one for years and found it just before Christmas for one cent! Got to love roll searching!

This is a great thread. I have been roll hunting regularly now for over 10 years. Here are some of my better finds. An original hobo nickel, a 1972 Kennedy half missing the obverse clad layer, a 2000 Jefferson nickel with multiple clashes (an example can be seen on maddieclashes.com), 1972 DD obv cent die 1, 1984 DD obv cent, 1969 dime struck on quarter stock, 1939 Henning nickel, along with several Cuds, some off centers, struck through die caps, ect. It always surprises me what you can find roll hunting.
