Put is on a scale, the weight of a proper coin is right there on it- 30 GRAMOS Given the color and odd appearance of the denticles and rim, I would say it is an underweight fake on inferior metal. Alice Meyer New Member United States 1 Posts	Posted 06/27/2012 9:00 pm I believe I have two authentic 1947 Cinco Pesos, 30 Gramos, Ley 0.900, Mo. that I found in my fathers things today. I know he and my mother traveled to Mexico back in 1952 or so. And from what I read earlier.....no, magnets do not stick to my coins One feels a little heavier than the other. How do I find out what they are worth? I also weighed them and they are 30 grams each. Can I polish them or will that reduce their worth? vb3347 Valued Member United States 230 Posts	Posted 06/27/2012 9:32 pm I have seen a number of counterfeit 5 Pesos 1947, but it's hard to tell from that pic. All of the fakes were very underweight (between 20-25 grams) and magnetic. If it passes those tests, then yours is most likely real. Report this Post to the Staff
