oh my, I just poked my head in here and took a look (and I'm getting out quick). The folks here clearly read riddles better than I do. maybe it won't be solved in the morning and I'll take a closer look.

good night all

order of operations is king here. I like another order better for a whole number answer but I have to go with what I know to be true...

At this point I have to say no but, weavus, could you email me your conversions so I could make sure you didn't find alternative meanings?

TIP: Give your answer just as a number, do not explain the nicknames so, if you make a calculation mistake, you do not help your competition.

Just in case this gets to tomorrow, is this just a tip, or is this intended as a rule?

I'm confirming a "no" for weavus.

Yes, rikcando, that was a tip, you do with it what you please.

Is that 6 or 6-factorial (in which case you want me to do the calculation)?

that's a bummer. Well, I know I have no other answer. I know the math is correct. I'll be interested to see where we differ on our sources for definitions of the riddles. I have all of the web pages I used (and we know the web is always right)

Good luck all

Thanks. I have my next answer formulated with all of the work definitions. It is not close to what you call close, and I do not know where I went wrong. Therefore, I don't see me winning, and if I can help someone by showing my mistake, then that's what I'll do.

That is of course if it lasts that long.

My "close" call could have been just an encouragement. Besides, close is a "stretchable" notion ( my dad used to say that a stomach was a stretchable notion ).

I realize that close is a relative term, as in the moon is close compared to the sun, but that doesn't mean I'll be walking there soon. The store is closer than the moon and my wife can't even get me to walk there.

thanks.

Maybe by close he meant there is more than one partridge in the pear tree.

Better re-check my calculations.
