Its a nice coin but not a 40. I would give it a 30. Eyebrows and cheek to much wear for a 40 but I always like to grade very conservatively.

Thanks guys. I am also leaning toward VF30, might make 35. I am also conservative when it comes to grading, but, IMO, too much wear to warrant XF40.

VF 30, spots and crude on back take away some, so not a choice coin. Not 40, ribbon blends in with hair at the bottom curl.

Agree with the VF30 or so grade.
Cool coin, you don't really see a lot of woody IHC's

VF-30/VF-35 sounds about right a few areas of heavy wear on the obverse and some of the encrusted gunk keep it out of EF territory

I would have guessed 40 along with cwb. It looks 30ish, but in my experience with Lincolns, woodies tend to obscure the detail. Maybe it's because my eyes focus so much on the grain effects that they overshadow the contrast of the devices..lol. Might not be the same with indians, but regardless; a great pickup for $3!

Hmm...surfaces look higher grade, more like an XF. I don't know if the 'wear' is related to strike partially.
