Coin Show Opinions?

This was one of the more difficult decisions I had to make when I arrived at ANACS. I am fully aware of the service we provide by having our graders at coin shows. Dealers, collectors and the general public used it and loved it. However, our business has taken off--this year we are more than 40% ahead of last year, and last year was our best year ever. While we had graders at the shows, coins would pile up back at the ranch. The graders would be working on the weekends and would need some time off when they came back after the show. Meanwhile, customers were getting, shall I say, a bit testy because they paid for a certain turnaround time and they were not getting it. It wasn't so bad in the old days when we were getting half the coins we're getting now and only a few of them were going out late, but it's not okay these days. Something had to be done, and, for now, this is what I felt I had to do. Are some people at shows mad? Absolutely. Are our customers happy with our turnarounds? You betcha.
