I have a few silver certificates. I noticed one seemed smaller than the other. When I measured edge to edge they were the same but, the ink part was different in size.

1935 series G ink border to ink border (left to right) measured 5 3/4"

1935 series (no letter?) ink border to ink border measured 5 7/8"

I guess I thought that the design would have been a carved in stone size for every bill. Is difference typical?

I also had a second question about these two bills. On the back only one of them has IN GOD WE TRUST above the word ONE. I have the Standard Catalog of US Paper Money 26th Edition and it makes no mention of this. Is one more desireable over the other?

Series 1935 notes were printed in 1935.... series 1935D notes were printed in 1952.... series 1935G notes were printed later in the 1950s.......The deviation in print size that you refer to is common on virtually all earlier notes depending on variations in plate size.... While 1/8" may seem rather substantial, it is a factor neither in added value or interest.

IN GOD WE TRUST was added to these notes in the mid 1950s (during the printing of the 1935G notes), so some 1935G have IGWT, and some don't.....the 1935G with IGWT are far scarcer, and I imagine more valuable.....All notes printed prior to 1935G (like 1935F) will not have IGWT..... all notes printed after 1935G (like 1935H) will have IGWT.

How about the 1934C Star note? How much is it worth in AU/UNC condition?

A 1934C star note should bring somewhere between $80 to $8,000 in such condition.
