It won't let me send you an email. It says I don't have access.

warsumm you are too new to have access to the forum message system. once you have been around a while and your post count it higher it will allow you access. I'll hold your coin until that time. Just send me a PM as soon as you are able.

Congrats to all the winners. So the 1 dollar coins made from 1-1-04 to 1-1-09 were special issues only then. That was the only info I could find. That they went from the Gulden to the dollar in 04 and back to the gulden 5 years later. Just curious where everyone got their info from. WOLF

I got lucky. I came across some info, after looking in tons of places, in google images while searching "suriname 100 cents". I saw a 1987-minted coin and then linked to an article stating a 1987-1989 minting period for the 100 cent piece. Not finding any info on post-1989 mintings, I went with 1989 for my second guess.

So it is not a 1 dollar coin, but a 100 cent coin. That makes more sense. Thanks for explaining that.

Actually, I went to numista and they only had mintages through 1989 before they list "special sets" that ended in 2008. So, I went with 2008 for my first guess in case the sets included biz strikes, and 1989 was the next logical choice.
