First off, it's a 1964, so it has had plenty of circulation to smooth out a ding (or three), and it does appear to have been dinged next to the MM at one time. Report this Post to the Staff

coop Bedrock of the Community United States 62064 Posts	Posted 03/19/2011 10:29 am It appears that it is a die that is starting to show chipping near the edge of the die. The area near the mint mark is getting real wide in that area. I would think this die is getting ready to for a Cud in that area. Just hasn't popped loose yet. I would set this one aside to see if later examples can be found with this happening of coins from the same die. Report this Post to the Staff
