It looks original to me. I'd call it XF-45 with a bit of strike weakness but very appealing over all.

hair detail is great, but I wouldn't go higher than vf overall, TPG xf because it's nice looking.

I really like these early halves and yours is very similar to mine. I put mine as 35 to 40, yours has slightly better hair but mine has better eagle neck feathers. Great coins for the collections.

I had this one at 50....it has a bit more subtle 'shine' than the photos if I remember correctly, and I didn't see much actual wear on the cap.
