I have tried this with pop machines, but with no luck. I have however had more luck with my bank. Whenever I go in there I ask if they have any half dollars or dollar coins. So far have gotten a 1979 P wide rim Susan B Anthony dollar and a 1967 silver clad Kennedy. I have been doing this for about a month now, and she now saves them for me.But to be honest I still hit up the pop machine from time to time.

When I did this with nickels last week, I managed to get a 1981 Canadian nickel. I'll take 99.9% nickel over 75% copper/25% nickel anyday.

And just yesterday, I got a 1947, 1954 and a 2009P nickel doing this. That's my 3rd 2009P (I don't have any 2009D's yet).
Rest in Peace

Isn't taking coins from a wishing well not on your property considered theft ?

Not reading this whole post, but I think you'll find that you're not alone.
