The first photo is a part of what I recently received from someone that works in a bar. He cleans up at night also and picks up coins all the time. Nickels, Dimes and up he keeps but puts cents in a jar and eventually gives them to me and free. After many hours of people drinking, eating and who knows what else, this is what many look like So I figured if I tried to take them to a bank, they would just tell me to get lost so I figured a few dollars in soap may help a bit. Many were stuck together. Hours of water and all sorts of soaps prodeced this improved batch but I really think this is all not worth the time and trouble. Two of thoes THINGS turned out to be Dimes. I had to do all the counting outside since the jar they were in also contained dead bugs and some sticky stuff. Just got to be carefull when asking people for coins.

Frightening. Especially when I think of some of the places I've seen cents laying inside bars. Bleach would be in order.

Zincolns are such a failure as a composition, they should have stuck with aluminum. I know I'm a fool but I just can't get into them, it only makes sense that nice examples will become scarce. My collections end at 1982 (in my mind). Some day I'll post a picture of all my BU zincolns, in a Whitman folder, all of which have a green line of corrosion along the rim.

These zincolns were relaxing at the beach until I came by with my metal detector.

You made a good effort to save the lives of these poor Cents....... Doubtful these "Rescue Cents" will end up in a good home though......perhaps they should be sent to members of Congress for examples of a composition change ? ....
