You might be a serious vammer if you spend more than fours hours a day studying and looking for specific vams for your collection.

You just might be a serious vammer if you have a new Catia 3-D computer that allows one to tilt and project light at different angles, just like one could if you had a coin in hand...

Have you used Catia Dave? It is dauntingly complex until a person gets used to it, but is an awesome program once the capabilities are realized..... similar to the earlier Solid Works programs, (but better).

No, I've never used it, but it has the reputation of the best of the breed among those I know who do use such stuff. Then again, for a minimum $15k price of admission, it had better.

I wonder what it could do with an accurately-enough scanned Morgan dollar; imagine visualizing die scratches in 3D....

I don't think that I paid anywhere near that, maybe, but I kinda doubt it..... but then, I know people..

I really don't know what it could do with just scans beyond basic dimensional readouts to unimaginable tolerances (and maybe some neat images).... I have never tried to input a scan.

OMG, I guess I'll never qualify then, I spend three hours a day just trying to remember what I've forgotten.

I am the same way. My biggest problem is that I don't stick to one type. My theory... If I don't have it yet, I want it.
