At the moment, petrol is very expensive at $1.48 per litre or $6.72 per gallon (4.54 litres in our gallons). Steve

That would make it $5.60 for one of our gallons.

My wife and I travel 40,000K each (minimum) simply to get to and from work. That's a problem with living over 40k from work. While our currency remains just above parity with the USD, petrol will remain at about $1.50. If we return to (say) 85c/USD$1, we'll be look at about $2 a litre. So while our dollar is high...VIVA LA OZ! and your all welcome to come on down and visit.

I would love to see your beautiful country someday! Don't know if I could handle a flight that long though!

It'll never happen...can anyone really see the US accepting a dollar coin?

I bought one of the 20 Amero coins in 2009 when the year's set first came out. I figured, hey it's solid copper, why not?

For all of the U.S. economy's woes, it must not be forgotten that the U.S. dollar is still by far the most used and respected of the World's reserve currencies.
