What happens when we get all the way to 1908 and 1909? Shouldn't there be two days dedicated to each of those dates...one for the Philly coin and one for the "S" mint?

I've never done it that way on any other "Days of..." postings and I think with the limited numbers of "S" IHCs, I've leave it with a day for each year. Good suggestion though! Anything I can do to improve this/these thread(s) I am more than ready to listen. (I'll take all the help I can get!!)

If it's Wednesday, it must be 1859! Here's my 1859 Indianhead cent. Bought it from a CCF member a while back. See you in 1862! (I got to get those holes filled!)

Here's mine, I got from Rick Snow, graded EF-40. The reverse has a lot of Longacre lines as you can see. This is one of my favorite coins in my collection.

Quote: nybird: Matchbox, is that a rotated die? No, it's my scanner. For some reason it scans a little crooked. Or is it me that does it? DavidZerbato, that's a beauty!

Moe, I think you can see it especially on the N in cents. I think it is more often referred to Longacre doubling but it is common. I could be entirely wrong but want to pretend I know something I guess.

It isn't real doubling as it surrounds the letters and other details. I think of it as if you dropped a rock in semi wet clay or mud and it was just the right texture to fold out from underneath and leave a raised ledge in the shape of the rock only slightly larger. I was talking about the N on DavidZerbato's image. You can see it elsewhere too on leaves and ribbon near bottom pretty good.
