I collect foreign coins and banknotes, not usually American coins and banknotes. I ended up getting 6 coins and a 2 dollar bill in an auction lot. I would like to know more about the 6 coins and their values. there is a 1922 silver dollar, a 1972 half dollar, a 1831 50 cents, a 1831 large cent, a 1907 penny, and a 1911 v nickle that I didn't scan because it had a dark patina on it and it wouldn't scan.

hmm I am not sure of value of the coins except the 1972 half dollar and the Peace dollar (1922). The Peace dollar in this condition usually sells for around 45-55.00. The 1972 Half Dollar is worth about 50ยข. If I had to take a guess on value of the other three coins I would say the 1831 Bust Half Dollar is damaged with what looks like a Check mark on the Obverse and is worth about what ever spot is for the coin maybe a little more. If it were undamaged it would probably be worth around 50-60 bucks. the 1831 Large Cent may be worth about 60 bucks and I am guessing is in F-VF condition. Just remember these are only a guess on what they are worth and grade and I would wait for someone else to give their opinion that actually collects these series of coins and go from there

Here is how I would value them after quickly looking them over:

1831 Coronet Large Cent Fine $32.00 (Greysheet value)
1907 Indian cent - looks corroded from the photos - about $1.00
1911 Liberty nickel - from your description, I would say about $1.00
1831 Capped Bust half dollar - Good Details with Scratch $25.00-$30.00
1972-D Kennedy half dollar - face value
1922 Peace dollar - Extremely Fine - $35.00 - $40.00

I think Nolawyer has it right. I'd spend the Kennedy half, put the damaged 1831 half on ebay, add the Peace dollar to my silver stash, and give the Indian cent and Liberty nickel to two young collectors who would treasure them. The large cent is not a high dollar coin but appears to be undamaged and fully original which makes it very desirable. It might be time to start a US type set, with this nice old cent as the charter member!

with nolawyer and Jaobler. The 1831 large cent is the best of the bunch in terms of a collectible item. Peace dollar is good for silver.

I agree with everyone on what they said...

I don't know about where any of you live, but here in central Ohio , it seems everyone & their grandma is taking silver in trade for good/services.

I disagree on the Peace dollar statements. NOT just a silver coin. No, its not AU, but it is still much more valuable than just silver.

The others I am with them.
