I have a raw, cleaned, with whizz marks, but nearly uncurculated 1875 s/cc Trade dollar. It has the same die crack marks as some I have seen on the internet. Should I get it authencated as genuine from PCGS?

if you are planning on selling the coin then authentication is a must on a Trade dollar. Allot of people will not touch a raw example just because there are so many counterfeit Trade dollars out there from China

It doesn't work, you get a prompt to set up a Walgreens photosharing account.

I'm getting the hang of it! One more. OK now how do I get the photo larger and crisper?

well first you need to take the picture larger, where only the coin is showing instead of all the background or at least get most of the background out , then crop it to get the rest of the background out. Then resize it to fit on the forum or at least upload it to some website that you can see a full picture instead of just a thumbnail of a picture (that Walgreens site is just showing a thumbnail). a close up of the mm would be nice also but I can not even tell if this is a real Trade dollar with these pictures

the bigger pictures are allot easier to see but I still can't make out the MM in question. The blow up of the MM picture makes the coin look like its whizzed also, not sure if its just the toning on the coin or what is causing it but does it look whizzed in hand? I don't see any evidence of it in any of the other pictures but that blown up one is what makes me question it

Yes the coin has been whizzed. Disappointing as that is it has identical die cracks on the reverse in comparing to other certified examples I have seen.

I think it looks like a genuine coin. But it does need grading probably NGC. I would hate to see PCGS send it back in a body bag.

PCGS will certify it as genuine now. Damage, whizzing improper cleaning...all will get slabbed simply as genuine if indeed they are.
