Hi Everybody,

Nice to be here. Hope everybody is having a good day. I just need some help. I have a 1909 Barber quarter and I waswondering how much they are worth. I don't have a picture to upload and it's in pretty good shape. Anybody have any idea, just generally speaking?

Thanks,

Honestly, the only answer for the question, based on the information provided, is "$4 to $3500." Price depends on pretty strict grading guidelines.

A few helpful questions to start:

1) Does it have any mintmark, under the tailfeathers on the reverse?

2) Is LIBERTY completely visible on the obverse?

3) How much wing detail remains?

We can start from there, but pictures, of course, would be of great help.

I looked the coin up in the Red Book and the range there is $6 for good
and $1500 for MS63 and an "O" mintmark.

Of course Superdave is correct because if the condition is not "good" $4 would be about right. And if the coin is better than MS63, then it would be worth lots more.

There where minted that year four types
1909 with no mint mark
1909 D mint mark
1909 O mint mark (rarest)
1909 S mint mark

I don't see a mint mark under the tail feathers and no Liberty on the obverse. Not much of the wing detail remains. Thanks for all your help.

unless some of LIBERTY is visible, the the best grade it could receive is good, which puts it in the $4-$6 range.

If you are saying that you have a 1909-D half then it is counterfeit as none were made in Denver dated 1909, but if yours is a QUARTER, then there were more than a million made and if your is in a similar condition to the one in the OP then it also is worth $4-$6.

I have the quarter, but was looking under the half section. Was even wondering if it was an "O" with someone altering it to a "D". No it's a "D".
