So here's my plan for buying a metal detector :)

I'm gunna roll hunt quarters and dimes for any and all 1968's.
This is because 1968 quarters and dimes are 50% silver, bringing in more then face value, and with quite a few more of them laying around then other silver coins, why not?!

Here's the stat's so far..
( and please remember I'm not going to get full bullion price for these as people like to make a profit )

$2.50 face '68 quarter
$0.40 face '68 dimes

Total $2.90 face
Silver Value = $37.96

Still haven't determined what detector I'm getting or any accessories. Once I've figured that out I will update to include a final goal :)

Based on this plan it appears you possess the most necessary characteristic of a successful metal detectorist ... Patience.

Good Luck!

Don't forget the 80% as well as a few .925 that are still out there.
That will help you out quicker.
I still find lots of 80% dimes here in new england. (U.S.:)

$0.40 face '68 dimes
