If you read my other posts you know that I recently bought a group of coins from an estate. I bought all of these coins based on my opinion of grade & whether or not they had been cleaned. There are a couple of these that I think I might not have paid fair market value for. I'm not going to disclose what I paid, but if the forum opinion of grade/condition varies greatly from my own I'm going to contact the seller & make things right. I'm hoping I'll get some good opinions of grade, what problems you see & if the coin is impaired(cleaned, damaged, etc) what percentage of non-problem value would you have paid. My pics are not the best....if there's something I think the pics don't show I'll point it out.

Pics are reasonably accurate although there is a rim ding to the left of the date that is worse in hand than in the pic.

G6. Not enough hair left, and worn through the denticles on the reverse. Likely won't slab due to the obverse rim ding. $100-125 maybe? $150 in a righteous G6 slab.

I thought this one might go VG. Looking at it again I don't think it quite hits VG & the rim ding is probably enough to keep it from getting slabbed.

Absent a harsh cleaning, graffiti, or serious environmental damage CC's will almost always get slabbed TPG's love them

Nice! I had a feeling a TPG would put this one in a VG slab the new ANACS is pretty strict, too, so might have made VG-10 at NGC

Definately not an 8. It's a solid G6. The weakness of the rim on reverse where it blends into the field eliminates it from and 8. PCGS won't slab a Morgan as an 8 without full rims on both sides. The rim ding by itself probably wouldn't disqualify it as its not that bad for a well worn coin. I think it clearly has been cleaned in the past. I think it carries a net G4 value about $150-$160 IMO.

I generally do not read others responses before submitting my opinion on these 'guess the grade' threads...so I did not see this was already graded by ANACS. I'm suprised (and a little disappointed) that they would put this in a VG8 slab. It's clearly missing that grade due to the weak reverse. That will certainly help to market it however.
