Found this in change a few years back. I have asked around at shows and on the CCR site if this is a common die rotation for this year. So far no answers. Has anyone else seen this error? All input is greatly appreciated.  |

I have not seen one, that rotation is significant, definitely worth some kind of premium at that degree of rotation.

Is it a 90 degree CCW rotation or is it a 270 degree CW rotation?  Any significant die rotation is still on my wish list. Very nice coin and I would imagine not to common. Thank you for sharing. Edited by cladhunter13

I would think that it is 90 ccw rotated but I'm probably wrong as usual in these cases.:(
Also there is a chip/dent just left and below the 2 and on the obv. it lines up just above and on the chin.
Should this error be listed or submitted so others can look? Not to sure what the next step is.

Yeah, it's rotated 90 ccw. What a awesome find! There's no mention of it in the latest Charlton issue.
The only recent date 25c coin with this rotation listed in Charlton is the 2000 Harmony. That coin at MS64 = $100, MS65 = $150

Very nice find,I have never saw the 25 cent except for yours here but I have seen the 2006 loon dollar with the same rotation

First off WELCOME. It's been many,many years since I've seen a rotated die picked out of circulation.
The first and only one I found was a 1964 Canadian nickel(180 degree rotation)(It came out of a coin changer ,if any of you remember those things)
Today I still look for rotations(It`s nice to see the mint is still letting them escape)After seeing what you found,my hopes are back up again.GOOD FOR YOU AND AGAIN WELCOME TO THE FORUM!!

Very, very nice. I have a nice 1965 25c with a 90 degree rotation. I imagine yours is quite scarce, because it is the first one I heard of for that year (and they were minted 5 years ago).

What is your goal for the coin? Are you trying to sell it or keep it? that would dictate your next steps.

If the coin is mint state (uncirculated) then it belongs in a nice TPG holder. If gem mint-state (MS-64 or better) invest in PCGS, especially if your intention is to sell. If lower grades, a CCCS hard slab would be a nice home for that coin.
