Congratulations!

I am on conference calls most of the day and stay in the break room cycling my coins hoping to get a keeper. Now if they only put a Coin Return button on the Coinstar machine :)

Haven't been lucky enough to have any vending machines around me that I know of the dispense dollar coins. If I want them I have to drive down to the bank or order them through the mint.

I used to do this! Except it gave me quarters back. I was looking for silver, got lucky with a '64 D.

Congratulations on your new child!

At my college campus, I've found that if I insert a combination of coins that add up to $1, some snack machines dispense dollar coins. I would then insert dollar coins repeatedly until I found a Sacagawea or a SBA to spend (Most of them that come out are Presidential dollars). I "flooded" my college campus with so many dollar coins since last may that almost all vending machines are now converted to accept them.

Congratulations on you're new daughter. I have 3 daughters myself. I'm trying to get them into collecting also (I just started myself).

Porter, Congrats on your MS70 baby girl or PF70 baby girl what ever you prefer. My little guy just turned 3 on the 8th of this Month. It feels like yesterday we brought him home from the hospital. Our son came out a little over 10lbs, full head of hair & two teeth. I said heck he came out ready for school. lol Take pictures every day! It goes by so fast. I wish you the best of the best. Congratz!

Wow...congrats on the little one! This is an extremely special time in your life, so try and soak it up.

My little girl is four now and this is a real fun age! I've been taking her to this coin shop since she was two, mostly to buy junk silver. She always asked me what it was that I was buying and of course 200 million "why" questions followed.

I explained to her that this will one day be spent on her college and that it's worth money.Kids are funny at that age because they usually pick out key words they like and stick with just that word.

So now 2 years later when I go and buy silver, she still asks my coin guy for "college" everytime we walk in the store.....He thinks its cute and for me it helps me remember that she'll always be my little girl.

This is something we'll always have together and she and I really both enjoy collecting coins and buying silver.

Start her young!

Congrats! You know she growing up when you hear your own words coming out of her directed to you. Lots of people get upset at that kind of "talk back" but I always think it's hilarious to hear my sons catch onto my words. It helps build the discipline to keep it clean when you smash your thumb with a hammer!
