Just purchased my first flying eagle. What grade do you think & how much should I have paid? I think I might have paid a little too much, but I like it anyways.

I have been on this site a lot lately and I really appreciate the expertise that is shared. Thanks to all in advance!

Yeah, F15. Couple minute spots of verdigris but looks to be uncleaned and original.

I'd call this F-15 to VF-20...but the surfaces look weird which I think is masking some of the true detail

I would say it's a VG. There is just too much wear on the eagle's wings and it may just be the picture but I can't make out the eye either..

The eye looks pretty clear to me, also I would say it looks VF-20

Like I said it may be the picture but it just looks like a hole in the eagle's head to me. I graded this one of mine to be a Fine grade, maybe this can further explain what I mean..
I could also just be very conservative on my grading?

I thin you are being too conservative on your grading, that's a great look FE, I would call it VF25 probably, but it looks great.

As to the OP's coin, I would call it Fine, but I agree that the surfaces make the coin not very attractive. I would have discounted the coin due to that, but it still has fairly nice details.
