I agree - that 1818 is awesome - SuperDave - can you share some details about the coin?

Quote: How cool is that 1818? That obverse die must have completely shattered VERY soon after this coin was minted! There is nothing holding it together!

N-10 variety, not particularly rare nor really valuable what with all the Red examples from the Randall Hoard kicking around. Pretty spectacular coin all the same, and the single largest price I've ever spent on one coin. Since departed for greener pastures, and I made a profit on the flip.

Shadow - yep, that's right. She's a very pretty coin.. might upgrade at some point in the future just to get the last "problem" coin out of my 7070. As I'm sure you remember, it's probably recolored and is just a little bit wavy. And now, I finally get to start posting my coins again!

I've been so busy I missed out on posting my lone Half Cent & yesterdays large cent. I don't have a pic of the Half Cent but here's a few large cents. The 1818 that's in my 7070. This 1851/81 used to be in my 7070, now sold. This 1856 is now in a PCGS MS64BN slab. The 1853 in my 7070.
