US Rarest by mintage, 1885 nickel Three Cent business strike 1,000 coins struck I have several Conder tokens that make that look common. Warwickshire 38a 200 struck, I have two of them. Warwickshire 31 108 struck (Oddly enough it's considered common.) Middlesex 294 in silver 30 struck. Hampshire 62 in silver 30 struck. Glocestershire 63 in silver 30 struck. Absolute rarest US 1797 S121a large cent 16 known. 1802 NC-2 large cent 12 known Conder tokens Shropshire 13bis Unique. Shropshire 11 2 known. Shropshire 11bis 2 known. Warwickshire 340bis 2 known. Lancashire 86bis about 6 known. And several other pieces with from 6 to 20 known. Quote: They minted LOTS of Fugios, and a ton of die varieties. Actually they didn't mint a lot of Fugios, only about 300,000. And all of those many die varieties came out of those 300,000.

very nice thread! Enjoy looking at the pictures! I've got 90% so none of it is rare BUT I recently got a 1927S Standing Liberty quarter for melt at a jewelry store! I think that has a very low mintage after the 1916 SLQ!!

my rarest by know mintage is: usa- 1806 large cent (348,000) world- turkey 1977 5 kurus (190,000)
i can't say they are the rarest coins in my collection because I own a couple of roman coins and several english medieval hammered pennies with unknown mintages.

These have got to be the two rarest coins I own...I don't believe there are any other like them ..... I just found them in my backyard today! I literally walked out 3 steps from the back door and there they were in the dirt. Our basset hounds have created a dirt path around the perimeter of our entire yard from their hourly patrol So, they are the ones to receive credit for uncovering them. The Obverse is completely unreadable but you can make out from the Reverse that they are LMC. I could take them to work tomorrow and beadblast them to see if I can find a date. In all seriousness, I'll have to look through my collection to find my rarest. I know my oldest is an 1889 IHC. I like the idea of this thread though!!

Enjoying this thread and all the great coins so far. Sooo ... my contribution is the the three US classic silver commemorative type coins with mintage at 10,000 coins each ... there are only 3 of the 50 silver commemorative type coins at this mintage level ... and although not 'rare' based on some of what you have show .... they are most certainly tough to find. I humbly submit the three 10,000 mintage classic US silver commemorative from my collection ... total combined FMV of the following three coins is an astonishing $8600. 1935 Hudson Half Dollar ... PCGS MS66 CAC Approved 1928 Hawaiian Half Dollar ... PCGS MS64 ... Rejected by CAC Arrrgh on that decision. 1935 Spanish Trail Half Dollar ... PCGS MS66 CAC Approved Wishing more folks would enjoy tackling the classic US sliver commemorative set. David

Ooops! Sincerest apologies, only just noticed this thread is in the US only section so regard my previous post as a stray and as such have deleted it. My bad, Norm (I've nothing below a mintage of 125,000 for US coinage I'm sad to say)
