nickelsearcher Moderator United States 15571 Posts	Posted 06/19/2011 4:25 pm IMHO this 1943-S Jefferson grades VG8 ... and the 'split' in the 3 of the date is damage that occurred while circulating for all these years. Agreed that the damage happened many years ago ... the coin has re-toned well over the affected area ... but it is still PMD.
