I think it's the only '17-S I found, and it's definitely one of the nicest early Buffaloes I have.

No, it's not. The granularity from the Nic-a-Date just makes it look odd. The holes are round and directly in line vertically.

Day 7: 1919 (no dancing today, I'm not in the mood) 1919: This one is special! It's the very first Buffalo nickel I found while roll searching. I had a bunch of uglier ones, and acid dated ones, but of course this one sentimental, so it stays. 1919-D: 1919-S:

Do you think that doing a project like this could actually be profitable enough to do more than a few times?

You could definitely make a profit restoring dateless buffaloes, so long as you were frugal about it. You'd have to enjoy it though, because it is pretty labor intensive sorting, restoring, reselling, etc.

Another poster does exactly that. Sells on ebay, does nice restorations.

Day 9: 1921 1921: There's most of a date there, and more-or-less original surfaces! 1921-S: Key (no) date with no acid!

just wanted to say that your coins look great, and to thank you for the coins I got from you. The trade section has some of his extras, if you have over 50 posts I would check out what he still has! Very pleased with the coins I received, and happy to help get you back closer to the original budget of this project. I have followed it along the whole way and I'm glad you finished it!
