I'm kind of new to Indians, What do you think of the grade and the verdigris on the reverse. How will this effect the grade and value. Would the grading services just say details?

AU58 (Oh so close to MS60BN) Very few contact marks (in front of chin, on sheild and minor rim bumps) possibly cleaned at on time and retoned over time as color does not appear natural. better than average strike with some weakness on ED of "United", top of first few feathers and lower left of wreath on obverse. Verdigris at this level of grade in not a great distraction. Overall a very nice Coin!

EF45 details. The verdigras is very minor, on the reverse where it is of lesser importance and should not cause a grading company to knock it back to 40 or 35. It's a very nice high detailed coin anda great semi-key date to own in this condition.

I know this isn't my topic post but I'd like to ask a question in line with your's (jbbokamp), if that's ok.

Question: since it is thought to have already been cleaned once, is it appropriate to do anything about the verdigras at this level. I don't collect nearly the copper coins as I should because I am so worried about copper being "infected" with this stuff. Should I not be that concerned about it?

thats an easy AU-50 details, if not AU-55 details

and herman, if you used badthads verdi-care, thats as far as id go with any coin with verdigris(unless its VERY major, but I'm talking about examples like this indian).

I'd say it's an EF-45, the diamond detail doesn't pop out at you like an AU coins would, and there seems to be some rub in the lower part of the head band and in the high points of the feathers.. Nice addition nonetheless
