Neat thread, don't know why nobody thought about this before? I'm a police officer, 28 year veteran of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. (R.C.M.P.) I'll be retired in 20 months. Glenn

I'm a student! But me and my brother and friends build and sell chicken coops on craigslist-plus I make and sell maple syrup and sell Christmas trees during december. Actually turns quite a profit.

Throughout my early years in the workforce, I have been in telemarketing, direct sales, and mortgage banking.
My two "careers" I have had have been in computer technical industries and culinary. For five years, I owned a business as a computer consultant and programmer. This was followed by a short transition period where I did some construction and hotel desk work.
For the past nine years I have been a chef in two of the local restaurants here. Concurrently, I have had a small numismatic consulting and services home-based outfit since 2005. I don't want to be a "dealer" per se. I am of the school that upholds history and education over profits and prestige.
So, dealing in publications and supplies and directly interacting with the public to help them achieve their goals (even if it's with another company) is more fulfilling for me.

Awesome, now we're rolling => machinists, paramedics, cops, and even the chicken coops-bros ... but I still must say => engineers seem to be dominating this thread, yes? (thanks for responding ... very interesting)

hey-hey-hey => dontcha dare forget about including the machinists, the painters, and the chicken-coops-bros!
I like your enthusiasm brokencompass, but you may just want to merely tally-up once this "site/thread" has lost its ummmpppphhh? ... but again => run with this dog, if you see a bigger picture (I relinquish all rights to this awesome thread)

actually, I want 1% of all rights to this awesome thread ... theoretically, that should cover dog-food, low-end anniversary gifts, and the occasional dinner out at BP's (yes, I don't ask for much outta this life!)

Permanant public servant (again) - Education department - Vocational Education and Training (VET) - Contract/funding agreement management. Have also worked in education policy and secretariat. I have had a number of careers, including IT, OHS, contract mngmt (recycling and waste), recruitment, commercial property mgmnt and 10 years of non-ongoing contract work in the public sector. Been made 'redundant' twice (not a bad thing in Oz). Started at the bottom, got to the top, deliberately re-started and stayed in the middle ranks and have unfortunately recommenced the slide upwards to management again. All I want to do now is retire. Soon

I think engineers might be over-represented because most engineers like computers so collectors who are engineers are more likely to end up on an internet forum about coins.
