Has anyone found one in circulation from a bag or box?

I found a rather nice 1987P in a box. Have I used up all my circulation luck on that one?

I found two in the last year; both were among loose coins in a teller tray. I kept the nicer one and sold the other on ebay. I agree, quite hard to find but reasonably priced if you just want to buy one from a dealer. A few years back I also found a slightly abraded 1970-S proof Kennedy in a roll purchased from a bank in the touristy center of Santa Fe, New Mexico. Seemed like an odd place to turn up, but no complaints.

When I was younger, I always asked about half dollars whenever I was at the bank. This was back in the 90s and silver clad halves were not very difficult to get in circulation. I found one 1970D that way and a few dozen 68D and 69D and a handful of 65-67.

I found my nice AU 1970D at a tiny Walmart bank. THe only half dollar they had. I had been roll hunting for 2 months maybe. Recently, I found a '70S.
When I listen to LED ZEPPELIN...so do my neighbors...
Roll hunting since '77
Dirt fishing since '72

I bought one years ago, before I started roll hunting, for my P&D set. Have found two more since then and started another set from roll hunting, including the proofs. I think I have 32 more holes to fill; mostly the silver proofs and late proof coins. Might be a long time before this one is finished.

I've found a total of 2- 1970D's in $500.00 boxes over the last 2 years of roll searching.

I've also found 2- 1970S Proof's also in the same time period in $500.00 boxes.

Good luck hunting!

My aunt gave me one in 1971 that she got working at a grocery store and
my father bought me 3 sets from the mint in 1970.
back then I thought it was one of the greatest coins to have and felt like a king.
Silly me, to bad I didn't chase a 09svdb or 16d merc.

As I was going through another skunk box I was thinking about how I have never found
a 1970 Kennedy. It appears I am not the only one. I do find alot of the NIFC. I have about 10 rolls.
