I agree with your first impression, however as I looked more closely at the photo I couldn't really come to a conclusion of rub or some sort of an illusion due to the toning. If its a rub or two, they are from long ago in my opinion. Report this Post to the Staff

I think that's the ticket (understanding I'm not familiar with the delineations between 53-55-58 with this issue). This is one of those you'd need to replace with MS64 or better to have a better-looking coin, even with the toning, which I suspect isn't as bad as the photo makes it look.
