You've got most of them. I am going through some rolls of uncirculated 1959 pennies and have found a few hanging 9s. The 1962 has small and large hooks. The 1963 has single and double hooks and the 1965 has hanging 5s.

Im curious now, all the errors and varieties listed are post 1937 maple leaf pennies. Were there varieties like this on the 1920-1936 small cents also ? Besides the obvious 1929 high 9 and the famous 1936 dot of course.

the only varieties I see on the 1920-1936 small cents is the 1929 high 9 & low 9 and the famous 1936 dot..
I'll try working on a list with more not listed here so far, maybe we can all work together to make ONE BIG list

With all the help I've gotten here and other online searching I've come up with quite a list of circulation and varieties and errors for the years from 1937-2011. For the 74 year period I have a list of 212 pennies.

I will see if I can find any more to add to that list as I try to compile a list for the remaining small cents from 1920-1936 although other than the 2 varieties we have already noted I havent found much to add to the list yet.

@ Danlos9551 Do you have any pics of the halfmoon cents you mentioned ? Are you refering to the halfmoon shape seen on some nickels or the halfmoon clips ?

I have some half moon cents 1946-1952...they are die clashes like the ones seen in the 1951 nickels, and they're usually located around the leaf stalk, on the left or right.

I've sent a few to CCCS recently for grading, so I dont have any on me right now to post pictures.

But they definitely do exist :)

Hi there. I'm wondering if a '62 with a 15 degree clockwise rotation is common?

I have over a couple thousand small cents, and left them "as is", because I couldn't get more than a few at a time, in 2006. So I went to FE/IHC, then when it got too expensive to look for that '77, I went to the large cents. that changed to 1859N9 die marriage research, and so today, it is all that I do. My source for the '59's has nearly dried up, so I am sitting on the fence. I need about 400 more to fill the population portion for reference, and being in the SW USA, makes it very hard to find anything butthe decimals that come from 'roll searching. That obviously does NOT include the "Vicky's"!
This is as close as I am allowed to get to my coins, due to surgery, but one of these days....

I have found a 1984 cent that is an odd colour and is slightly magnetic.
Also the 2000 cent has cracked dies from the points of the right hand maple leafs. It may also have extra metal on the last 0.
