Alright my plan was to complet my small cent collection all in MS condition, now other than missing a few its time for a new goal. I thought I would try tracking down all of the varieties.
I have tried compiling a list from online sources, using only ICCS recognized varieties. I am sure there must be lots more I dont know about so if anyone can add to my list or point me to an onlie list of them Id appreciate it.

Quote: 1940 - dbl 940, 90 degree die rotation By far, the coolest one in that list. I have a 1944 with a 90 degree rotation. Quite exciting when you find them!

I lthink the rotated coins are very cool as well. I recently picked up a 1968 rotated 90 degrees, I think exactly, plus a 1937 at about 45 degrees plus or minus.

Great collection! You are missing a few, including the 1979 double date with a 15 degree rotation. The pennies with a hanging digit can be elusive, but the most common are in the early sixties, followed closely by the '57, '58 and '59.
Please elaborate upon the rotated 1991 cent you have. I ask this only because I have a small family of those, ranging from 15 to 270 degrees.
Thanks for your info!

To answer your original question of what you are missing, do you have the Zoell major and minor varieties references? They are not easy to find, and are often not cheap, but worth it for the variety hunter.

You can add extra spine/bud for 1968, 1971, 1972 and 1973. Each year can contain a die clash, double date/reverse, double obverse and a rotated die.
My die clash colection is complete from 1937 to two types of 1965s. only missing 12 years in my 1937-2011 set. I can add a double obverse clash on 1998, 5x clash 1979 and a mule-clash 2003 that has a 4th portrait obverse with a third portrait clash reverse.

sorry staircase didnt notice your request. I have found a 1991 with like maybe a 10 degree rotation but only one with a 90 degree rotation unfortunately it is very circulated so I am searching for a better example of the 90 degree. I'm surprised to hear youve found them in such a wide range of rotations since it was difficult for me to locate what I did
it seems like every year of small cents since 1937 is fraught with errors, far exceeding what I had suspected. I appreciate all the help here it seems like just small cents will keep me busy for a long time ... good thing I love pennies best :)

A question for those with 90 degree or 270 degree coins....... Does anyone know how ICCS would describe it? Would they just say "Rotated Dies"? Or would it say something different? I see that they show such coins in their population reported separately on a specific line, but I think I have also seen some of the commemorative quarters on ebay that sellers say are 90 degrees but just say "Rotated Dies" on the holder. I am wondering if these are actually 90 degrees or were just close to 90 and as a result ICCS felt it should just be called "Rotated Dies" rather than something more special?

Generally speaking, ICCS will make a notation on the flip if it is 90 degree + in rotation.
