I think their an ugly coin, but I do enjoy searching through them for all the above, One of my favorite finds is the PF 81 Type 2. My eyes always trick me looking for the Type 2 and Wide Rim. No matter how well I've got it down. Its frustrating but fun.

Pick out any wide-rims you find and spend the rest. And personally, I only find the SBA half-ugly; I happen to like the reverse.

Yes, we all have a right to a opinion, but that does not mean it hurts any less to hear it!

So this topic started with how much SBA's are worth and it morphed into what is the ugliest coin. Interesting.

So now I will put in my 2 cents worth. The SBA's are worth only 99 cents to me. I ask for other dollar coins at the bank regularly but I always turn down the SBA's. They are ugly and look too much like quarters (ok, I said it). But maybe I should look at the ones that I already have to see if I have any of those 'wide rims'. I never looked.

SBA's make interesting golf markers. Then again so do Sac's. Huge, yes. Practical, not really. But when you're as marginal a golfer as I am, it really doesn't affect the game and makes for interesting conversation (and settling the occasional ill-advised wager).

That said I like SBA's. Not the prettiest coin out there, but eye of the beholder and all that. One of the more unique U.S. coins I'd say, and worth putting a set together.
