So I have now 12 2008 gap's, 13 2004 Gap's and 4 1966 gap's. Are any of these coins worth anything?

They're worth what someone is willing to pay, but I would say about $1 each, unless they're Unc.

First of all, CONGRATS Nice gap and congrats again on the close up photo!
As far as additction, I won't let any family or friends pay for anything with coins, I ask them to save their change then I buy it off them. I have even started collecting the coins from my work mates when they put their 11am coffee order in and swapping it for notes. My living room floor was unwalkable for all the coins spread out - so I have cleaned out a bookshelf and I store my coins and stuff in there now (well most of the time - I have 10c coins all over the floor tonight)!

Oh Dear
Been there, done that.

Very hard habit to break. Probably easier to give up a cocaine addiction.

One day I will wean myself from doing that sort of thing. If I do it probably means I am incapacitated (or dead).

Jeff
PS. For God's sake don't tell a workmate that the 20¢ they put in the coffee jar is a rare wavy 2 and worth $200+. Normal people can exhibit irrational behaviour when confronted with such a strange story.

Is uncontrollable sitting on the floor for 6 hours sorting through coins, four days running (and counting). Maybe uncontrollable is running in the door from work and sitting on this website untill bed? Today I asked a client if I could go through his change! Is there a section for help with this addiction?!
I totally missed this post! What a hoot!

I stopped sitting on the floor and now use the table tennis table with a whole lot of labelled paper cups to deposit my finds into. Much better on the back and knees. My friends are afraid to accidently say "coins" around me just in case it triggers me into talking about my coins. Somehow I worm coins into the conversation though.
I have found around 18 2008 gaps and sold 8 they went for about $4.50 each. I think that's a bargain as these are very hard to find. Now I'm going to have to start looking for the 2004 gaps

If you know someone with a 'pokie' addiction, introduce them to 'error' coins....they still get to play with money and keep it.....and don't have time (or energy)for anything else

I have found 5 2008 Gap coins. Some in near-uncirculated condition. They are certainly not that common though.

To obtain a degree of "self control" to checking my change, I restrict myself to inspecting 100 coins a night.
At the moment though, that rule is "out the window" whilst we are in the midst of "Noodle Frenzy Weekend 2" https://goccf.com/t/117074

I wonder if I can return to my previous "self control" regime from Monday

you asked a client if you could go through their change, that is indeed addicted.
