Buying Off Ebay Question

Generally when silver is moving up, it will draw about 10 bucks average higher price then it cost normally in a shop an such (often tax brings that back to a dead even equal price), as to cover the 14% fees for ebay an pay-pal....

Used to be a time when being crazy meant something in this world. Nowadays, everyone's crazy.

Unless one is describing BINs, with auctions starting at .99, no one knows at what price the auction will end so it isn't about charging more to cover fees. I've heard people say, and I agree, that ebay is where one finds a coin's true market value on a global scale. It's probably the only place I could find the rare proofs I collect and I'm very happy to be a regular buyer of them. Of course, being a seller on ebay wouldn't be so enjoyable, unless one is selling large amounts of PMs.

I was attempting to be a little more circumspect and judicious with my answer, but now that the cat's out of the bag, the comment about ebay was an off-the-wall sort of thing to say, and that's putting it mildly. Oh well. To each his own.

yea, I totally agree! imagine another planet as the internet, ebay already has and conquered 90% of its land with iron gates, while the others split up the reminding 10% (overstock, eCrater), I'm unsure about Amazon though.

I think people like Hawk have the right idea. Buy at the local coin shop and sell on ebay and make a nice little profit. Invest in a little more silver with the proceeds. Rinse and repeat. I've certainly considered doing that myself.

I have shipped much lately, but with small boxes an bubble wrap envelopes an a added piece of bubble wrapping around the item, I have gotten most of it to buyers an not been a huge pain. I have only spent around fifty on shipping on this recent batch, again about 2 dozen items or so sold about 4 days apart....

Did I get rich, far from but got some new solid pieces I figure in the hard to find 10 an 20 oz ox bar Engelhard, an a quarter oz of platinum an gold, as well as another local good buy on a 6.6 Academy bar, an will add more when cash allows....
