Believe it or not, I actually got a Wheat cent in change from my local coin shop a few months ago! It was a common 1950's wheatie, but still a wheatie!

I haven't found one in weeks, and when I do, It's typically 1950s.

That being said, I did find a 1911 in my change at McDonald's once. Maybe that's the place to go since I also have gotten an 1890 Indian Head and a 1923 Mercury dime from that same McDonalds

I received a 1945 Wheat cent yesterday at Publix. I got back 4 cents and it was one of them.

I get Wheaties like every day! Signs of how undeveloped my city is. Still using sixty year old coins.

I stopped in burger king the other day mid afternoon and I was the only one there under 70, so I'd think that fast food restaurants are a great place to get wheaties.

My wife found a sandwich bag with a couple of bucks worth of pennies in it last week. Yesterday I sat here playing online poker and sorting pennies for an hour or two.

I found 68 copper pennies, 2 wheats 55D & 52, and a 1897 IHC in very good condition, surprisingly good.

They seem quite rare to me. Last time I cleaned out the family coin jar, only 1 popped up in $40+ worth of change.

Still though, considering that a common wheat is only worth 3-4 cents, I do get awfully excited when I find one. I should start seeding my own change with wheat pennies just for the thrill.

In the past year, I've only added 26. But, I've been busy and not bought many boxes.

Around forty years ago or so my grandfather pulled a 1922 plain strong rev (type 2 I believe), as for me, two a year sounds about right other than CRHing

I go to a coffee shop where they put "odd coins" in a Styrofoam cup next to the cash register. One day they had this 1955 wheat in the cup. (Too bad it wasn't a DDO!) It looked to me like full wheat, so I gave them a quarter for it.

I put change in a large can bank every time I get any. Eventually I take that thing to a bank. Every time I throw in a Wheat cent for fun always wondering who will find it and wonder where it came from.
