I've got enough posts to sell, right? How much of a premium are you guys willing to pay for these things? I may be getting my supplier back, and if so, I'll sell everything I don't keep.

Spend them in lots of places to give people a chance to get them that would have never seen them before.

Shadz the thing about spending them down at the 7/11 is that the cashier gets leery and upset when you start eyeing the till while the register is open.
It kind of marks you as somebody worth keeping and eye on. You have to do it sneaky or your busted.

If you are spending them, then why would you be looking in the register? Just give 2 Ike, take your Slurpee and change and go on. The idea would be to spend them in many places where many people can get them from the drawer, not the same place and the same person, and hopefully not some place where the manager will come take them from the drawer right away.

Shadz I was talking as if Jbuck was spending them and you came up later and saw them in the register.

Jbuck hasn't even been in this thread yet. Just why would you think I would be looking in a register? You just aren't making any sense.

Quote: I've got enough posts to sell, right? How much of a premium are you guys willing to pay for these things?....... I am willing to go $115 + shipping on $100. When I can find them locally I pay $1.10-$1.15 per coin.

I would be happy with 115.
When I get enough posts I will sell here.
But in the mean time if you are serious PM me and maybe we can work it out. I will be happy to do $115 plus whatever the shipping is.

What ghostrider is trying to say is hypothetically if someone were to pay with Ikes and another customer came up to the counter after the fact to purchase something and they looked in the register and happened to notice the Ike the cashier might feel uncomfortable with said someone eyeballing the register.

People do that all the time with or without an Ike n the drawer, so it is a bit silly to even mention in regards to Ikes being present. Ideally if the cashier wants it or someone else, wants it they will have mentioned it if not busy like Walmart, and some cashier has had a chance to already buy it if they want it before the next customer comes along. Often when I spend halves or small dollars there are customers in line behind me that already know about it because they watch like the nosy person eying the drawer and ask me about them or the cashier when it is their turn. Often I have spares and offer it to them while waiting on the cashier anyway because my intent is to get rid of my "dumps" so the person behind me can get them from me AND the drawer if they really want. People will do it anyway if they really want to stick their nose in the drawer where they have no business, so we can't really do anything about those people whether they see an Ike or not.

I haven't acquired Ikes in quite a while, but when I do I get them for face. I in turn spend them here and there, and will sell several to a manager friend of mine who runs a convenience store........he hands them back out in change as that his customers get a kick out of getting them. He also distributes $2 bills for me.

For us to execute the above quote would be against forum rules. The rules are a little vague when it comes to this issue so I am sure the admins will let this pass. I do appreciate the offer though. Another venue you might want to try would be one of your local area live auctions. Attend a few that have coins for sale and see how bidding goes. It has been my experience that coins sell for ridiculously high prices over fair market value to uneducated fools who have no idea what they are worth and are to flip them for a profit. I have seen the regular circulated clad Ike's go for anywhere from $5-$10 each. Although I am not selling any I come across because I like them too much to let them go. In my opinion, one cannot have enough of any of the large dollars in their collection.
