I think they do as well. Although not a lot of money, a good money maker and inexpensive memory maker for Disney World.

Exactly! My son has certainly enjoyed filling the album we got him.

I'm going to Disney World next month on a band trip. I might try something and bring a few steel cents.

Have a great time on the band trip. How many kids are going? We did this 20 yr ago with around 300 or so band and choir. It was a great time.

I went to Disney world with my wife's family last October and those machines were everywhere--probably 50-100+ per each of the four parks! I gave my wife two BU rolls of 2010 cents (I had lots of extras) and she used them all by the second day!

Sounds like a great time ahead, Numisma. Finn, excellent work! I hope our little Disney conversation does not permanently derail the original intent of this thread.

Yes, once Disney is entered into almost any conversation it has a way of taking over! But the reason for the insertion is legit! Penny machines was the first thought in my head when I saw the title! And as we know Disney has numerous machines.

Numisma made a comment that passed by without comment, but I find interesting. He said he might put some steel cents through the wringer, so to speak. I am curious how the zinc coating will hold up, but more concerned about how the machine will hold up to the steel slug vs the bronze or zinc cents. I haven't used one since I was a child, do you think they are designed to roll out a steel slug?

Not sure. But I do know I have seen on a machine to use the pre 1982 pennies. I think that was in Gettysburg.

You know, I think I'll bring some steel as well as some copper and zinc- I'll see how they hold up. Perhaps one with extreme zinc rot as well. I kind of want to try an IHC, but I could never bring myself to do it. Maybe just a common wheat.
