First of all, I can spot money on the ground from about 50 feet away. Really.

Three best finds:

1. One day while walking down the main drag in my hometown, I cuold see a $50 bill on the sidewalk ahead. For some reason, I had to stoop down on that spot to "tie my shoe".

2. One night while getting on a transit bus, I could see some money laying on the stairs up into the bus. I picked it up, and when showing the driver my bus pass, gave him my business card to let him know that if anyone reported losing a sum of money, they could call me (no one ever did). Found amount: $65.

3. About two months ago, I drove my SO to work. She had something she wanted to show me at her desk. While we were walking across the parking lot to the door, I found three 20s and a 10. Again, I let someone know that I had found a sum of money behind the building and if anyone was missing some, they could call me. Again, no one did.

My luckiest day was on New Years Eve of 2000. I was the designated driver that night. Through out the night I kept finding 5,10, and 20 dollar bills on the ground. The cost to enter the nightclub was 35 dollars. By the end of the night I found 95 dollars on the ground. Well it certainly paid for my admission and since soda was free, I think I made out pretty good.

When Burger King had their promotion with the money in the wallets and someone had dropped one of those wallets outside my job (convenience store). A customer brought it in that night and a coworker put it to the side, as it was busy and she never got to look at it. I came in the next morning and started poking around in the wallet, it turned out to be a $100 bill with the King's sticker over it.

Also, finding $10 underneath the condiment station at work.

While jogging along a canal in the middle of the city, a bicycle rider went whizzing by and out fluttered a few pieces of something. When I caught up to the spot, I picked up 13 dollars. My shouts went unheeded as he was a few hundred yards away by then.

1857 Flying Eagle cent in change from the cafeteria. Sounded weird when I dropped it into my change holder.

Also got a $5 silver certificate from same place.

In high school I delivered pizzas. One night in change I found a $1 bill with serial number 00000001.

Last year our church did a fund raiser where they put a big 5 gallon water jug and everybody dropped their pocket change. I volunteered the task of taking it to the bank to cash in the change. Of course I went through it all before I cashed it in. I found a bunch of tokens, a handful of wheaties, a few silver mercs, a few silver roosevelts, and a 1927 gold quarter eagle.

I found 50 euros on the street where I walk going to work. The worst part, everyday after that find, I automatically look on the ground at the same spot where I found the money and It took me months to stop looking at the same spot everyday.

My brother and I were at the flee market in Grayslake, Il years ago. He picked up a Playboy magazine from the 60's, not paying attention to anything but the magazine, I reached down and picked up a $20 bill that was between it and the next magazine.

Middle of NYC at pier 17 I believe last spring and 2 $20's came flying by my feet wrapped together. Not the most I've ever found was surely the best considering how many people were walking around.

When I was a teenager, I wanted to become a professional archaeologist, but my mom said that I would never make any money at it. Later, on a family vacation, we climbed an Aztec pyramid together. While my mother was catching her breath and enjoying the view, I was looking down at the stones and rubble. There amidst the rocks were about $10 in Peso notes. My first comment to my mom was "see, archaeology can pay off!"

I've worked as a professional archaeologist ever since, but have never found paper money at any other site.

In middle school in the lunch line, I found 20 smacks. I was about to use it, but then one of the teachers asked around if someone found this kid's $20. I told them I had one, so they brought me to the kid and I returned the bill to him.

Then we became best friends, and even though we go to different high schools now, we still meet over the summer with a bunch of other middle school friends for movies, games etc...

As a kid I was at our local park for a baseball game. Found $65 dollars behind the dugout. Went and told the ladies at the concession stand they held the money till all games were over. Nobody claimed it and I got to keep it.

And when I was in H.S. I used to work at the Atlanta airport for a newsstand and would tell the cashiers if they found any old currency to let me know when I did deliveries. Got a one dollar silver certificate one day. But the day one cashier had a fifty dollar silver certificate I didn't have enough money to get it.
